Definition	Fraction of used municipal wastewater subject to secondary treatment per year. "Secondary (biological) treatment" uses biological process to decompose most of the organic matter, resulting in the reduction of 70-90% of BOD5, and remove about 20 - 30% of the nutrients. Primary treatment alone does not remove ammonium, whereas the removal rate of ammonium by secondary (biological) treatment is around 75%
